From a bloggers point of view, the world is large, fast, and evermore growing in technological design and modern landscaping. But it is these changes to vastly affect our planet in a negative way. The earth is crying, yet we are not able to kiss the tears without the movement of a new generation. Free The Children is an outstanding organization that brings forward our generation of strong individuals and brings the children of the world the most positive of desires, hope. A second chance for a new life, where a young girl can go to school, not walk 3 hours daily for water, and a boy can start a new trend for his family by getting the education he needs. This organization go’s to the innermost root of the poverty circle, and thanks to the Me to WE Foundation, the circle has already begun to break open. Me to WE is an organization that focuses on empowering youth to take the step to change. They proudly support by giving 50% of all profits to Free The Children, a partnership that will change the world. Me To We is taking many steps towards world equality with Free The Children by setting goals, and achieving them. One of those ambitious goals is to take Free The Children’s administrative rate down to zero in the next five years, and by doing this make it possible to put 100% of all profits to projects. Over the last year alone, 1 million dollars has gone to Free The Children from Me To We, this generosity has helped to pay administrative workers, provide renting for offices, and other aspects of running an organization that in most cases can only be supported through taking a percent out of donations. Together they take a stand to world poverty, and with the help of us young girls and boys, we will succeed. I realize that I am only a 16 year old girl sitting here telling the story of a future generation, but that’s all it takes! One step, one town, one school. The planet as we know it is ready for the change, but are you ready to make that first step?
The two organiations have worked together in the following areas:

If I were blessed with the opportunity to have my own TV show, I would use every ounce of creative sparkle that I have for one main purpose. EDUCATE. This generation of young girls looks to the media for a step by step instructional guide of what is beauty, what it takes to get the boys attention. In my hour long evening program, I would aim to redirect those wants and needs and be the new Tyra Banks of television(somewhat speaking). We need to see the big picture in life, as 90 % of the worlds wealth lies in our hands we choose to absorb it in the glitz and glam. Of course, every girl needs a good bubble bath now and then. But pleasure in moderation to the world surrounding. In my show I would have a special episode each evening dedicated to various topics. Night one: Yes boys, being a girl is tough!" I would focus on the pressures of being that normal girl trying to fit the mold of vanity fair or vogue. Quirky little things such as natural makeup tips and ways to build self confidence would be the sugar of the show, to introduce the idea of true beauty, the kind that we all possess but sometimes miss through the cracks of the bathroom mirror. A week's worth of programming would be focused on Free The Children. This organization is so important to send out to other youth and let them see what other boys and girls their age have to deal with, and the hard labour they must endure to gain the flicker of hope for something that we take for granted, an education. Maybe I would change the perspective of at least one girl, just one. Now set design, I was thinking of a set that would instantly draw the attention of a young girl. Giant posters of Edward Cullen and Jacob Black? Nah. A vintage themed atmosphere with black and white with a dash of pink. Orchids, Lily's, Comfy Couches with a giant bowl of girlie goodies. But did wonder woman fly alone in her battle for good over evil? She had the help of superman and the incredible hulk, right? Well that is exactly where the right guests come in handy. The people that I would absolutely love to have are students from the MC College. These guys and gals have exactly what we all need, passion, dedication, and the creative tingle that seals it all together. We would do things such as hairstyles, looks, and yes, I would attempt to keep up to them. Along in the lineup would be some representatives of Jergens. This skin smoothing company supports amazing foundations that focus on the nature beauty of a women. These include Look Good Feel Better and
. We are a country of love, freedom and change for the betterment of the future, so why not turn the TV on weekday evenings to enjoy The Inside Beauty Blog.

Okay now picture this: NEW ON ABC AND NBC, its a bird its a plane its.........her. Nah, but how would a show of me turn out? And better yet, who would play me in the movie! Perhaps a younger version of Kate Blanshet.. anyways, HI! :)
Okay here we go:
The life of a teenage girl, bold..dramatic, and everchanging with hormonally blamed moods. But thats why ben&jerrys double chocolate fudge supreme.. right?:) Sure we have our difficult moments and our advantage over arguments, but we are stronger then ever. Who am i? Well for one, i'm just your everyday 16 year old girl who has moved around a few times and therefore does not prefer the highschool drama life. I always try to be a leader, from anything to a girl power function to a three legged race. My mother always told me that from the day I was born I had determination radiating out of the ponytail she stylishy put me in...yeeeah pink bows! For me life is a mission, an adventure. I never have and never will touch a single drug, so sorry, no dramatic chase scenes or combat in this daytime special. Growing up you always crave to fill that empty space in your heart, and at 15 I filled it when i travlled my first year to mexico to serve and build a house for the poor. The children.. they live in peace with no wealth, yet we always want. Want the new iphone, want the new style, it isnt NEED, its want. Even i can accuse myself of this, that is why I do as much as I can to give back. Everyday is never the same with me, but that wouldnt be my way of living. I want to travel, to see the world and dip myself into evert culture that paints the world! So me in a TV show.. never a dull moment, in a nutshell.

What is this little island that nestles off of the coast of the mainland craze? Where can you take in the freshest of air, and still enjoy a good chunk of homemade fudge? Well like it says on my sash, Vanouver Island is the place to be. The natural beauty of Vancouver Island must be seen to be believed, simple as that. For can you really taste the forest air after a rainfall through a picture? Can you really feel the adreneline rush of the slopes by pressing your face to a TV screen? Nope, this island is where the life of adventure awaits. I love Living here.. such transparent beauty, such divine. Every year we get thousands of tourists from all over the globe who just like us, crave the sea air. My home is natural, real, filled with wildlife while maintaining a city buzz near the southern tip. Where else could you go whalewatching and actually see a whale! In my city of Victoria I have my favorite hotspots,or hidden treasures that only the true adventurer can find. In the most populated and developed city of Victoria, the party never stops. A daily treat of mine is to head down to the Bubble Tea Bar in Chinatown. For those who dont know, bubble tea is a cold drink served in a cream or tangy form with tapioca bubbles at the bottom, so many flavours mmmm! :) after that why not head across the street and through Canadas smallest alleyway, Fantan Alley. There you will find the Across the Globe cafe, where they carry the worlds BEST grilled cheese. No if ands or buts, it really is.
All around you can hear music, singing, laughing, and the occasional birdcaller. Not far lies the Craig Darroch Castle, built between 1887-1890 for Robert Dunsmir, a scottish immigrant who made his fortune off of Vancouver Island coal mining. The Castle is available for tours and still contains the same furnishings and structure as it was oringinaly built. Even the wallpaper hasnt changed. From my own personnel experience, the flow of history is almost overwhelming to see, but amazing to the mind. Could I really list off every breathtaking beach fabulous resort or enticing sunrise? No, but there is a small taste of the classic charm of the little island where dreams come true, Vancouver Island.

Ah I am so sorry I have been off of here for awhile, this past while has been so crazy for me i havent been near a computer long enough! This past few weeks have been hectic but great, I did the Victoria Day Parade with Mercades Benz and the Queen Alexander hospital and got to meet some very inspiring kids who have battled with a health struggle their whole lives. I will get onto my home computer tonight and post lots of pictures :) Me and Mary(Miss Teen Victoria) also presented medals for an annual bike race held downtown. The westside know how to ride! I have finished fundraising and am so incredibly excited to reveal my grand total once the pageant arrives, which is coming up so quick!! I have held a few independent events like a silent auction night held and the very chique city loungue rooftop owners escape. I was given many fantastic items from local businesses and well as a week in Cabo, Mexico!! A group of young girls who were inspired by a speech I gave about Free the Children decided to hold a Michael Jackson:This is it movie night, from which they collected and presented their raisings to me. Since learning about this blessed charity, I have made a personnel goal for myself to someday go to kenya and build a school, whether it is independently or through the Miss Teen Canada Organization. Speaking of that, less then a month until Toronto!! I am SO excited to meet all of the other girls and have the time of my life. I look at this pageant as an experience, healthy competition but I am not going with full hopes on walking away with the crown. To win would be amazing, but the fact that I have made it this far is such an accomplishment on its own.Apart from the Miss Canada world, I will be heading over to Vancouver this weekend for a movie audition! The female lead.. I havent had to memorize lines in awhile so im bringing out the highlighters and bubbletea!:) I am quite nervous but confident that I will do my absolute best and use the nerves to my advantage. It feels good to be blogging, now that I am not running around. Oh I completly forgot, I alsop had my wisdom teeth out a few weeks back and ended up getting dry socket the week after. I was crazy on the medication that they used to knock me out for the surgery! And to prove it I have a very charming video of me in the back seat driving home singing Lady Gaga's Papparatzi. Not quite in tune, but defintily a day brightner. Peace Love and Chocolate, Chantal xo

Heyhey! Apparently I like to catch every bug that goes around, woo food poisoning.. Anywho, the fundraising has been great! So many have reached out to help those to cannot help themselves. That along with schoolwork has kept me very busy, but I will try to update this blog as much as I can! A few days ago I was asked to write about something close to my heart. I wanted to share here what I wrote. I hope that it brings the message I was hoping.
This planet of our own we live in greed for the wanted
We crave what brings temporary satisfaction, popularity and lead
Are cups are full as we have grown to expect,
The image of beauty we strive to perfect
Forgotten in inosence, we look to the better
Translucent to those who sleep without shelter
A child may cry for a friend they have cracked
Or perhaps for the future they dream without fact
I walked in their tracks, with dirt to the knees
My eyes potray sympathy, but they smile in ease
Smile not for the glitter, but the way that it falls
As the rise of a child, the future shines brighter.

So I am officially in my 6 weeks to fundraise for Free The Children and I am more motivated then ever! I had a bottle drive this past Saturday and raised almost 400 dollars. Not at my goal but it's a great start!! I have been using this time to really get out and get involved in my island community. Last Sunday was the Times Colonist 10 kilometre run, which had such an energy that Victoria brings every year at this time. I vounteered with my good friend Robyn at the finish line, it was so uplifting to cheer on the 14,000 tired runners that crossed. This last week has been a crazy one, but I cannot wait for the 5 that remain!

Time is flying by so fast, I cannot believe that July is only 3 months away! I will be starting up my fundraising soon to reach my goal in funds for Free The Children. Today I spent the day passing out information about a bottle drive that I will be doing this Saturaday as a starter to my 6 weeks. I got to speak to the elementry students about why I am fundraising and what Free The Children is about. I was surpirsed by how excited and motivated these kids were! Also, getting a giant group hug confirmed my success. :)

I am so happy that the weather is so beautiful here in Victoria, fresh air! When I think of a perfect day, it involves doing what I love most, helping out the kids I have such a passion for by fundraising! I will be starting later this week and I cannot wait to get closer and closer to my goal. I would like to explain why I care for kids so much for those who do not know. For the past two year, I have been travelling down to Vacennte Gararro, Mexico, to assist a poverty strucken town and build a house for a family in very hard conditions. It is one thing to see a commercial of a charity worker holding a small child and listen to them speak about the future that they will not have, it is another to be there in the flesh. My heart breaks for these children everyday, and although playing with them makes their eyes light up I know that they will be sleeping on a dirt floor that night. Free The Children is such an amazing organization, to give kids an education is to give them an oppurtunity at a future. Just typing this alone makes my eyes get teary, so I will cut it short :)
